Warsaw, the capital, has a blend of modern and historic architecture, with landmarks such as the Royal Castle and the Warsaw Uprising Museum. Kraków, another major city, is famous for its well-preserved medieval core and the Wawel Castle. Poland is also home to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage site with underground chapels carved entirely from salt. The country celebrates a variety of traditional festivals, such as Easter Monday’s Śmigus-Dyngus, and has a rich culinary heritage featuring dishes like pierogi and bigos.
