Petra, often referred to as the "Rose City" due to the color of the stone from which it is carved, is an ancient archaeological site located in Jordan.

This city, believed to have been established as early as 312 BC, was the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom. Petra is renowned for its impressive rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. The most famous structure in Petra is Al-Khazneh, or "The Treasury," which was carved into a sandstone cliff. Petra was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 and is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
